The apartment is named after Paul Schreiber. He and his wife Evelyn owned the building from 1955 to 1999. Paul was an associate conductor with the St. Louis Symphony and a composer. He loved his apartment building on Shenandoah! He was responsible for the conversion of the 2nd and 3rd floor of the building from a single-family home to three individual apartments. He is also the one responsible for the mid-century touches in this very cool apartment. Thank you for your interest. We hope we get the opportunity to host you and earn your business.

The Schreiber Suite, upstairs apartment felt like home away from home. It is rich in style and charm, balanced by every modern day convenience. It is a pleasantly accurate representation of the online photographs provided. The spacious rooms are beautifully appointed with Mid-Century Modern touches and furnishings. The two room layout was ideal for this particular visit. My husband had some work commitments he needed to keep, and was able to wake up early and retreat to the living room each morning, to check emails and host conference calls; while in the adjacent room, I was able to sleep late in the super comfy king bed behind closed doors. While keeping its historic charm, the bathroom was completely up to date; providing a nice hot shower with excellent water pressure day or night. In the evenings we found the living area with electric fireplace to be super cozy and inviting during our February stay. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with fresh coffee beans for grinding and a large assortment of teas; along with other delightful snacks and a sampling of local beverages. The cupboards were all dressed with first class dish and flat wear, pots & pans and every cooking tool ever needed. We took full advantage of the convenient local dining, and enjoyed meals at both Crafted, (located literally next-door); and The Shaved Duck; a few blocks away. We also became regular patrons at Kitchen House Coffee across the street! This property, and host, sets the bar high for all places I have previously stayed. Not only is it nestled right in the midst of one of the most iconic neighborhoods in St. Louis; but also positions you literally steps away from some of the most desired restaurants and attractions the city has to offer. It is sparking clean, and the hospitality and attention to detail is unmatched. Our hosts were great communicators, providing excellent check-in instructions, and helpful tips about the space and surrounding area. A true

Self check-in was easy and hassle free, and it was a real treat to find a couple of welcome beers in the refrigerator after the drive down from Chicago. There is a coffee pot and grinder in the kitchen, as well as an excellent local coffee shop less than 100 yards away. The hosts left plenty of towels for us to use, and the water pressure in the shower was great. The king-sized bed was comfortable. The green tile fireplace is really lovely - I only wish it were a real wood stove! We had a lot of fun (gently) exploring the period furniture. The living room had more than enough space for four adults to hang out. This location was perfect for us to visit nearby family, and we would definitely stay here again.

Seriously. That's what I often wonder about some rentals. Do the owners or managers ever stay in their own property? Most of the challenges would be easily identified by anyone who used the property, even for one night. The Schreiber Suite is an example of hospitality at its finest. Every amenity you can imagine is provided. Practical things such as storage and hooks on which to hang things--all there. Small things like Dixie cups and Q-tips in the restroom--those are there, too. Caring things--like fresh coffee beans to grind and fresh eggs and bagels in the frig. It's all there! And boy, does it sparkle! This property is crazy clean (if there is such a thing). Whoever the housekeepers are--do whatever it takes to keep them! The location is perfect, too. Easy access to all the major interstates but quiet as can be for sleeping. Just minutes from the all the best that St. Louis has to offer. We love that the property has been faithfully restored to it's mid-century modern beauty. It's quite nostalgic for us. This is a return visit for us and hopefully, only the first of many. THANK YOU for making this property available and for demonstrating such care and concern for travelers.

This is such a nice place to stay! Comfortable with great amenities and super location. I prefer to stay at any of the SF Shannon’s properties because I know they are consistent with cleanliness and hospitality.

I have stayed at many different places on my trips to STL--this is one of my favorites! The apt. is totally charming and has everything you could possibly need! If you have trouble with stairs though, I wouldn't try it--alas, historical building often involve stairs. Lots of towels, treats and goodies, comfy bed and drool worthy mid century architecture inside ("updated" from turn of the century, lol!) Quiet location, easy access anywhere!

We returned to a suite that we had stayed in before for a four day weekend. The only concerns were the adequacy of the room a/c units to handle the humidity during the stay and a minor ant problem on the first morning (the available can of Raid did the trick). The staff was as professional as always. The stocked amenities were remarkable and plentiful, again, as usual, from SFShannon Realty,
